454 is pretty low. They have several places that will issue a card to people with bad credit, but I don’t know about 454. My scores are low too but they are in the mid to upper 500’s.

Try the Imagine Card or the Tribute Card. Either that or Orchard Bank or First Premier. I am sorry to say that you are definitely going to get a card with all the fees and a high interest rate. That’s how they make their money. You make your payment one day late and they charge you $29 and other fees.

You’re going to have to crawl before you walk. If you don’t want to get a secured credit card, then just wait it out. But I can tell you from experience … if you don’t have anything else positive reporting to your credit report, then you are doomed. You have to have SOMETHING showing as paid on your credit report. A car, a secured credit card, a house, etc.

Good luck and I know how you feel. I am just now starting to see the light, however, I still get denied for certain credit cards.

Orchard Bank would be a good one for you to start out with but you wont have a high limit and your going to pay a fee per year just to have it because 454 is really low!

You need to clean up your credit as soon as possible. I had to after ID theft and bankruptcy and I still got my score up from 486 to 730 in a little over a year, so this is something I know about from experience!

Go to my website and read it all! you may want to bookmark it and get my RSS feed to since I add a lot of new relevant information all the time! I’m glad you decided to make a change because having a good credit score can affect so many areas of your life in our modern world!

You have the choice to dispute negative items in your credit reports too and you should do this if you find errors. I go into this in detail in my site.

You can get a second chance at credit, but beware of scams just waiting to take advantage of you if you get desperate and try to take a shortcut. Remember what got you into where you are now! I did it and you can too so my best advice is do NOT give up!!!! You should get a free copy of your credit report too.

You might find that enrolling in a credit monitoring service will help provide the motivation to straighten this mess out like it did for me and keeping an eye on your credit is a good habit to get into!

If you don’t have money for a secured card and don’t want to pay an annual fee perhaps the better solution is to not have a credit card at all. Particularly if that is what got you into trouble in the first place.

Yes there are, however there are several companies that will give you the credit card. You have to realize that you are going to end up having some pretty heavy fees to pay. I think the best thing that you can do is get some debt consulting with professionals. Let me be honest I have some relatives that got to the point of bankruptcy, and they barely got out of it moving their credit score from 390 to over 700 in 18 months. That did not happen without some serious commitment to sacrifice. Saving and spending wisely, paying bills before the due date or on the due date and spending only enough that you can repay.
